01
Who we are
55 Digital is a UK technology consultancy based in Doncaster, United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit www.55digital.net or get in touch, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, 55 Digital is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any questions, you can reach us at hello@55digital.net.
02
The information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete the contact form or email us, we collect the details you choose to share. That typically includes:
- Your name and, if you provide it, your company
- Your email address and phone number
- The areas you tell us you are interested in, and whether you would like us to arrange an NDA
- The content of your enquiry and any later correspondence
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and details of your browser and device, which helps keep the site secure and available. Only if you accept analytics cookies do we collect information about how the site is used. See cookies and analytics below.
We do not ask for special category data (such as health or financial details) through this website. Please do not include sensitive information in your enquiry.
03
How we use your information
We use the information we hold to:
- Respond to your enquiry and have a conversation about your goals, systems and constraints
- Prepare and discuss proposals, and provide our services where we go on to work together
- Keep the website running, secure and free from misuse
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
Our lawful bases under the UK GDPR are our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business securely, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, your consent where we rely on it (for example, analytics cookies), and compliance with our legal obligations. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it.
06
Where your information is processed
Some of our providers operate outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or a finding of adequacy, so that your data remains protected.
07
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to respond to you and to keep proper records of our conversations and any work that follows, after which we delete or anonymise it. Where we go on to work together, we keep the relevant records for as long as the law requires and for a reasonable period afterwards.
08
Keeping your information secure
We take the security of your information seriously. The website is encrypted in transit, runs on certified, independently audited hosting infrastructure, and access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to deal quickly with any issue.
09
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it
- Object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests
- Ask us to transfer your information to another provider, where that applies
- Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@55digital.net. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
10
Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
11
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we work or in the law. When we do, we will revise the date shown at the top of this page. Please check back from time to time to stay informed.
